Baby & Child Sleep Consultant in Hawke’s Bay

A lot of parents are just getting on with broken nights, short naps, or helping their baby to sleep every time, assuming it’s something they’ll eventually grow out of. But sleep is rarely random, and with the right support, things can improve.

My approach is about looking at the whole picture - your child, their sleep patterns, your family life, and your goals - and giving you practical, tailored guidance that makes sense and works in real life.

Ways I can support your family

Newborn Sleep Guide
$89.00

The newborn stage is intense and unpredictable, and this guide helps you understand what's normal, what actually helps, and how to support your baby's sleep in a realistic, reassuring way.

Newborns aren't expected to self-settle or follow routines, their sleep is fragmented and driven by comfort and connection. This guide works with that, focusing on calm foundations rather than schedules or sleep training.

Inside, you'll learn how newborn sleep actually works (cycles, active sleep, the Moro reflex), how to use simple tools like white noise, swaddling and awake windows, how feeding and sleep connect, gentle rhythms instead of rigid routines, and calm settling techniques like Shush-Pat. It also covers common challenges: short naps, frequent waking, reflux-like discomfort, evening fussiness, plus what changes over weeks 1-12, and NZ safe sleep guidelines.

It's for parents who want clear, judgement-free information, practical strategies they can use straight away, and a calm, confident start to newborn sleep.

Get to know me

Hi, I’m Kim Taylor - wife, mum of two, and a certified Infant and Child Sleep Consultant based in Central Hawke’s Bay.

My journey into this work began with my own children. With my first, I navigated sleep with very little guidance or understanding of how baby sleep works. With my second, I learned more about sleep development and put a clearer, more intentional approach in place - and the difference it made to our days and nights was significant.

Experiencing both ends of that spectrum showed me just how impactful strong sleep foundations and the right support can be for the whole family.

I understand how overwhelming and exhausting it can feel when sleep isn’t going well, and I also know the relief and confidence that comes when things start to make sense.

I’m passionate about helping families understand their child’s sleep and find approaches that align with their goals, values, and parenting style. Every baby and every family is different, and my support is always tailored with that in mind.

I’m so glad you’re here - and I’m here to support you toward calmer days and more restful nights.
